Leather Fireman's view through the smoke...
Taking a look at life through the eyes of a gay leatherman who has a slightly skewed view. With my profession, it does change your preception of what is really important in your life when you see what others feel is the important to them. I also hope to promote understanding and acceptance of all LBGT persons as well as promotion of the leather community for the same.

Speech for Mr Ohio Leather 2015
Ownership, I am not talking about owning a boy, or slave, I am talking about owning who you are. Standing up for yourself, not letting circumstances, events, or other people tell you can’t do something.
Ownership, telling others that even if they don’t look the way you do, everyone is still valuable and have much to offer the community.
Ownership, showing that diversity is the key to fraternity.
Ownership, showing that your kink isn’t my kink but that is what makes it all work.
Ownership, showing with actions rather than just words that we can build a better community.
Ownership, knowing that when we own who we are, we can become a leader.
Ownership, realizing that we all have self-doubt, and struggle with wanting to be accepted for who we are, and that is a part of life and it is ok to stumble, but don't let it hinder you.
Own who you are, what you are, what you do, what makes you you!
We all deserve to experience a life of joy, freedom, and completeness. Just don’t give up, take ownership of who and what you are.
Stand up and be proud. Be Owned.

2013 in Review....
Looking at the good and bad things putting them down on paper and reviewing them, I have to say that yes overall it was a very bad year for me. While there were things that went well, they are far out shadowed by the things that did not and have left me less than what I started the year to be, except for my weight. I have let people/companies walk over me without doing much about it. I have probably said things I shouldn’t have to people. I have had old acquaintances find me and I have lost friends and family. I gained weight that I had lost, I tried to better myself but in some respect failed, I have tried to do good deeds but who knows if they succeeded. So, as I sit and look back, no it wasn’t a very good year for me.
So what for this next year? Plans? Goals? Resolutions? Not sure. Only thing I have decided is that this is the year of me. Not that I am going to be self-centered, but I think I need to repair me. I need to do things that I enjoy and that help me as well as others. What will this entail? I don’t know yet, but I will be making changes. What will be the end game? I am hoping a better person that treats me as well as others. So if I am quiet, if I am loud, if I am defiant, if I am resolute you will know why. It is a process.

The Bible Tells Me So .....
Leviticus is a holiness code that was written 3,000 years ago, that being said it also prohibits against round haircuts (Leviticus 19:27 “Do not cut the hair at the dies of your head or clip off the edges of your beard”), tattoos (Leviticus 19:28 “You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves”), working on the Sabbath, wearing garments of mixed fabrics or planning mixed crops (Leviticus 19:19 reads, "You are to keep My statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together."), eating pork or shellfish (Leviticus 11:10 "But whatever is in the seas and in the rivers that does not have fins and scales among all the teeming life of the water, and among all the living creatures that are in the water, they are detestable things to you"), getting your fortune told (Leviticus 19:31 “Do not turn to mediums or spiritists: do not seek them out to be defiled by them”). In Deuteronomy, a marriage is only valid if the woman is a virgin, and she should be executed if she is not. In Mark 10:9 divorce is prohibited ("What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." And Mark 10:11-12, "And He said to them, 'Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her; and if she herself divorces her husband and marries another man, she is committing adultery.’").
I believe in morality, which is doing right regardless of what I am told. I don’t believe in religion, which is doing what I am told regardless of what I feel is right. You are most welcome to your viewpoints of the Bible, politics and such, but for me, using the statement “the Bible says so” to justify and judge certain things is not enough. If it applies to some you must apply it to all.
Just my thoughts on the subject.

Munch less than impressed
Now I sit and look back on this. It was strange, it was short, it had different information and a strange vibe. I have never really heard of any party / demo that didn't like single people to attend. I look back on it and am perplexed at what I really learned. In retrospect, pretty much nothing more than what I could read on the web about other areas (Detroit) that had events and nothing really in this area. What should one take from this. Being new to the group, I though I would learn more. Maybe it was being cautious with a new person, afraid of what might happen. I am not sure. One thing I do know, will try this one more time and hope for different results. If not..... spidey sense might be right...
