The Kinkdom

I had the chance to go to The Kinkdom for the first time. Myself, my lover and our boy had been at the Hayloft and I had done a needle demo there as part of Mr. Friendly's playhouse for Leather Expo. We didnt' know what to expect and actually thought we might be there for maybe 30 minutes at the most. There were not many cars around the place, so again it was "well we will just take a quick look". We were very surprised to find a very nice dungeon space with people to match. Mistress Lilly and her family welcomed us openly and warmly. We had a great conversation, Lepoard give a nice tour and answered all questions that we had. And then she pulled out her violet wand toys. Being a fan and owner myself, we spend quite a bit of time trying out attachments that she had and the wonderful electric rope that Lepoard had made. We shared for almost 3 hours. It was a great time and was warming to know that there are people that really want to give back to the community. I know that we will be visiting The Kinkdom again. Thank you for the time and hospitality that you showed.

Inferno bound...

So the packing is almost done and the excitement is building.  Tomorrow we head off to Michigan to the resort for Inferno, sponsored by Chicago Hellfire Club.  If you are not familiar with what Inferno is, it is a private invitation only BDSM party that has two sessions.  A - starts on Thursday thru Sunday and B starts Sunday thru Wednesday.  We are doing both sessions, so a week of fun. 250 men that have a wide varitey of interests and tastes but have one thing in common, we all love kink and play.  There are multiple dungeons set up with play gear outside in the woods also.  Lots of fun and fellowship.  Our dance card is filling up quickly already and we haven't even got there.  So will have stories when I get back, but in the mean time thought I would share this photo.  This is the toy pile that we are taking.. no clothing.. just toys.... yeah lots of stuff..... LOTS OF FUN....VEG

Munch less than impressed

     So I am trying to reach out to the kink community of Toledo.  I am a member of FetLife and found out that there was a group of people that had a group and met for munches on the second Sunday of the month.  I was excited to meet some fellow kinksters and find out what happenings might be going on in the area.  The post said they meet from 7pm until 10pm at a local eating establishment (name withheld for privacy of group) and to look for someone wearing a blue baseball cap with a computer.  Looking forward to the adventure, I went.  I got there about 7:20pm.  I found one person there and he had just finished eating.  He welcomed me and said oh you just missed one person, they ate and left.  I sat down and we chatted a bit.  In their opinion there seemed to be lots of drama with the group around this area.  I asked about events, play parties and such, to which I got a reply that there were a few but they didn't like single men coming, the preferred couples since single men seemed to just stare.  This was the start of that tingle in the back of your spine (spidey sense?).  This person answered questions when I asked but really didn't go out of their way to ask me much of anything.  I then was told, "I was about to leave and you just caught me".  Found that odd since the time listed was 7 -10. about 20 minutes later, another person did show up.  When talking with them, I got a different view of things.  No drama mentioned, different event descriptions and different places to go for demos and such.  My sense is really starting to tingle now.  This new person was nice, but there seemed to be awkward silences at times.  While sitting at the table, my phone indicated that I had a message on FetLife, it was from the second person at the table apologizing for my first munch being what it was.  It was about 8:15 at this time and the second person that arrived was ready to leave.  I said yes I needed to go myself.  So less than an hour later and well before the allotted time, everyone was gone. 

    Now I sit and look back on this.  It was strange, it was short, it had different information and a strange vibe.  I have never really heard of any party / demo that didn't like single people to attend.  I look back on it and am perplexed at what I really learned.  In retrospect, pretty much nothing more than what I could read on the web about other areas (Detroit) that had events and nothing really in this area.  What should one take from this.  Being new to the group, I though I would learn more.  Maybe it was being cautious with a new person, afraid of what might happen.  I am not sure.  One thing I do know, will try this one more time and hope for different results.  If not..... spidey sense might be right...

 

Never discount anything until you really give it a chance

OK so here goes me eating crow so to speak.  I had joined FetLife about 3 years ago on insistence from a straight friend of mine.  I created a bare bones profile and looked around a little.  I must not have been impressed since I didn't go back to the site until recently.  After being at the OVR contest, I met several people that were on FetLife.  I said OK let me go back and take another look.  I flushed out my profile, added photos and friended people that I had met.  I then got into looking into the site, the different groups and discussions and now, well I am hooked.  There is a wider variety of things that I had originally thought.  I have had some great discussions, read some good advice and met some new playmates already... Who would have thought? OK so maybe the people that run the site, but I am sure they have thought that all along.  One of my favorite areas is one on DIY Bondage gear.  I have made a few things in the past and had a great time doing it.  Well now I am inspired to do even more.  So what have I learned?  Give anything a good looking over and a chance before you write it (them) off (yes this can apply to people).  So this is what my boots taste like?  Maybe my boys do have the right idea... VEG.

First Blog .. be patient

Ok so here goes. I am new to the blogging scene so you have to be patient with me. I hope to get better with this as it goes. My goal is to help promote the LGBT and Leather communites with information, education and my own (however twisted they may be) views. I hope you enjoy!
